Huawei is in the process of updating a good part of its international mobiles to the latest version of its layer, EMUI 12 . The update will be officially released during the first half of 2022 and will reach from the most recent phones to some that are more than four years old.
Few companies have had to suffer setbacks as enormous as the one Huawei has faced since the United States government applied a commercial veto to the brand in May 2019 . This restriction has ruined a large part of Huawei’s sales in the field of smartphones , it also greatly cut its software developments. The company created HarmonyOS for its own devices, but it hasn’t finished expanding internationally . To alleviate this absence, Huawei will update its phones with EMUI 12, a layer that is already expanding.
28 mobiles will receive EMUI 12
The new version of Huawei’s custom layer is based on Android 11 and offers a renewal of aesthetics, installed apps, the brand improves the way content is shared between different devices and offers a unified control center in the area of notifications with which to manage from the connections to the quick settings of the phone.
Huawei started the EMUI 12 beta at the end of last year to reach the latest Huawei Mate and Huawei P. This beta laid the foundations for the final update that will gradually reach the 28 mobile phones designated by the company to be eligible for updating.

The list of devices is confirmed by Huawei itself, as well as the update period: these will take place during the first half of 2022 . We do not know the specific dates of each device: the most logical thing is that those more modern and higher-end receive EMUI 12 first.
